Genetics & Selection

Nigiri is the result of a long and carefully planned breeding process. The receptor used in the cross is Xeno, a Zkittlez × Kush Mints selection originally hunted by Alien Labs.

Grounded Genetics received this cut from a friend in Los Angeles in 2021. Since then, Xeno has proven its qualities across several breeding projects.

The other side of the cross has an even more complex history. The origins of Ultraviolet Sherb date back to 2020, when the original Sunset Sherb clone was pollinated with reversed Runtz pollen to create Designer Sherb.

From that seed stock, a standout keeper was selected for its exceptional bag appeal and fizzy Sherbet Push-Pop terpene profile. This selection was then pollinated with reversed RS11 to create Ultraviolet Sherb.

From the Ultraviolet Sherb population, Grounded Genetics selected a keeper that retained everything they valued in the Designer Sherb line while improving structure, vigor and yield.

This selection was reversed and used to pollinate Xeno. The result is Nigiri.
